Work Experience
I began my career at a private, faith-based agency in New Hampshire, where I provided behavioral health counseling and adoption-related services to individuals and families throughout New England.
After seven years, I moved to northeastern Arizona and spent 18 years at a community behavioral health center — starting as a clinician and eventually serving for 12 years as clinical director, overseeing behavioral health services for the broader community.
My family and I later moved to the Tucson area, where I worked at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base as a Military and Family Life Counselor. That experience gave me a deep respect for military members and their families, and a clearer understanding of the unique stressors they often carry.
I currently own and operate a private therapy practice in Sahuarita, Arizona. In the coming years, I hope to relocate to Utah to be closer to my adult children. When that happens, I plan to maintain my Arizona license and continue serving clients here through telehealth.
Other Noteworthy Information
In the spring of 2025, I was diagnosed with cancer. I have since completed surgery and chemotherapy and am now cancer free. That experience gave me a much deeper and more personal understanding of what individuals and families face when illness reshapes their world — and it strengthened my desire to support people as they adjust to a diagnosis, navigate treatment, and cope with the emotional weight that comes with it.
I have been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for over 35 years. I also value studying and practicing principles from Stoicism and Buddhism, both of which have contributed to my own growth and helped me become a more grounded, compassionate person — and a better therapist.
Outside of therapy, one of the most meaningful experiences of my life was coaching high school soccer for 13 years. When I started, I didn't know much about the sport — but my kids and the school needed a coach. With the help of books, YouTube, and a steady stream of dedicated athletes, our teams became perennial playoff contenders, including multiple semifinal appearances and one state runner-up finish. Fall is my favorite time of year — not only because of the weather, but because of soccer and football season.
